NYE

NYE

NYE by wanna-be-fashionista featuring donna karan

Well New Years Eve is quickly approaching and besides making resolutions and what not some of you might be in the same boat as me, no finalized plans and even worse, nothing to wear!

I bought a black blazer, but I still really want a pink one, they are just so cute! I'd also love to add some sexy studs to my shoe collection like the ones pictured here (okay, the cheaper version of each would be great).

So since it is a new year of course I have come up with a new set of goals that I'd like to achieve this year and they are as follows:

  • Send someone abroad through AIESEC
  • Travel, a lot. Anywhere and everywhere. Alone, with friends, family, strangers, just see as many places as possible, no matter how irrelevant they may be.
  • Show these last 30-40 pounds who’s boss. Tone the fuck up.
  • Write, sketch, design, style and read more. Finish books, write reflection blogs (where I don’t just bitch), journal more. Who is going to see it isn’t important.
  • Fall in love, with Jesus, yourself, your friends then worry about a boy. By then one will deserve you.
  • Take every day one day at a time. Remember that at the end of the day you have a chance to start over.
  • Breathe. Have fun. Laugh. Go crazy. Relax. Think less. Just live.
  • Walk in your gifts. Get that 4.0. Rock that radio show. Sketch those ideas. Style your friends outfits and love every minute of it.

Those are mine, what are some of yours? No matter what your plans for NYE I hope that you are safe and have tons of fun!

Guess what I did today?

New year (almost), new me, right? Well I guess that was my motto this morning.

I posted a while back about being natural and I have been so for about a year and a half. I used to be really into braid outs and twist outs and then I got lazy as soon as I realized I could wear it in a poof, throw on some headbands and call it a day, but with that I got lazier with hair care and really in the past couple of month haven't taken care of it at all (yikes!).

So I noticed when I straightened it for homecoming in October how damaged my ends were so I promised myself I'd grow it out for 2 months and cut off all the damage when I came home for winter break, which is pretty bold for me.

I have never really worn my hair out in an afro around town or campus and technically I still haven't, but I got it cut today and as I was about to slick it back into my staple poof, I stopped and said "Just F***ing (sorry) Do It Brittany"

I rubbed some oil through my hair, fluffed it out a bit and walked out my house.

It's so comforting, the confidence and freeness I feel, especially at home. On campus there are plenty of girls with natural hair, so it isn't uncommon for people to see others, but here it's different. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about what others would think, but I did this for me, I'm growing my hair out for me and I'm gonna hold my own and stick with this.

2013 is a year of health for me. Healthy mind, body and soul. Healthy relationships, spiritual journeys and changes.

It's gonna be great. Here's to the new me (and the new you as well!)

Rocker Chic

Rocker Chic

Rocker Chic by wanna-be-fashionista featuring triangle earring

Happy day after Christmas followers! I know you all are sprinkled all over the country, or the world even, but I hope those of you being hit by the blizzard are keeping safe and warm! My entire city is shut down which means I will hopefully get the creative juices flowing and create some awesome Polyvore sets! Even if I don't post them on my Tumblr or on here you can check them out here, leave comments, like it, just tell me what you think! I love styling so I'd love some feedback!

Anyway, seems like there is a huge independence movement going on right now and women are wearing bolder pieces and even gravitating more masculine pieces, which I love! So I guess this is my rendition of what I think the ultimate rocker chick would rock on a day out. I know I got a leather jacket for Christmas and I am so excited to wear it!

Slick your hair back, spike it up, or rock a messy bun, create a dramatic eye and you're ready to take the world by storm!

What do you guys wear when you're feeling feisty and want to let your inner rockstar out?

Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve! by wanna-be-fashionista featuring v neck t shirts

Two posts in one day, whaaaa!?!?! Clearly I've got a lot of time on my hands now that I am home from college, why not start updating this again? I really need to get into the habit of updating once a week at least, I will get better, I will, new years resolution!

Anyway, it is Christmas Eve and my family always makes homemade pizza, cookies (for santa of course) and open our stockings. Since one of my best friends is coming for the next few days I decided I'd attempt to look decent (my family did the same). This is what I came up with. It is definitely a staple for me in the colder months. Vnecks, cardigans, scarves and leggings are just an easy go to, especially since I've got so many of all of them! I also finally bought my first pair of riding boots from Urbanog.com and I love them! They are amazing and I feel like it elevates my outfit to a new level since UGGS didn't seem as popular this season.

But this outfit ia comfy, cute and totally fashion forward, swiped on a bit of makeup, put my hair up in a bun and threw on my glasses and I am ready to open presents!

Whatever your tradition may be I hope you are all enjoying your holidays with loved ones.

Keepin' it classy by wanna-be-fashionista featuring a merino wool jacket

Merry Christmas Eve all! And if you don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays!

It's no secret I haven't been the best at updating this. It's been quite the semester, so much has happened and changed and as it comes to a close all I want to do is have a class NYE with my best friends.

Of course I've got NO idea what to wear, but I was thinking something like the ensemble above might be a good idea, what do y'all think?

I've got the blazer and the wedges, but of course no high low skirt, we'll see what I can come up with in the next few days.

What are you alls NYE plans? Whatever they are stay safe and have fun ringing in the new year!

HALLOWEEN!

So after searching countless costume shops and making dozens of Ployvore sets my roommate and I have found our costumes for Halloween!

Michele likes to go all out (hence why she's being a devil) where as I'm more laid back and chill (and refused to wear anything other than leggings). So, superman excuse me, woman it is. So now we've got everything, I just have to wait to get paid, go shopping and we'll be ready to go!

Ahhh so excited! Not to mention, it's homecoming week (Mizzou, my school invited it btdubs) so the parties are going to be AMAZING!

Yeah, this weekend is going to be awesome.

One Night in the City

One Night in the City

One Night in the City by wanna-be-fashionista featuring pearl jewelry

So, if you follow my weight loss blog (click here) you already know that I have come up with a brand new motivation, New York! I talk about it all the time with my family, friends, strangers, I have to go there, in fact, it's a shame that I haven't been. So, instead of waiting around for my dad to plana trip, I'm taking matters into my own hands, I'm going!

Yup, it't happening. Maybe for Spring Break, maybe over winter break, but I and one of my best friends Travis will be hitting the big city and when I do, I am going to look fucking (excuse my language) great.

I've got about 30 more pounds to lose and I basically let the entire month of September pass by weighing the same thing, so now it is tim to get focused, 30 pounds in 3 months, that's about 10 pounds a month which is totally doable, I had basically been losing about 10 pounds every month until August, so it's time to get back to that because when I step off that plane, I am going to look fucking HOT.

Will I hit up any parties while there? No, probably not, but I dreamed that if I did, I'd wear something like this, perhaps I'll save this outfit for when I've actually landed a job in NYC and get invited to my first social, we'll see.

The point is, the excuses or over and done with, I have enjoyed sleeping in the past two days and loosely eating what I want, but tomorrow it is back to complete calorie counting and getting that 7 AM workout in, I can do it, I will do it and New York, it'll be so worth it.

Until next time,

Happy October!

Happy October!

Happy October! by wanna-be-fashionista featuring strappy shoes

Let's disregard the fact that it took me so long to update this blog! Gosh how time flies, I've been super busy with school starting back up, attempting to still lose weight and of course juggling two jobs, extra curriculars and a social life! To say the least I cannot wait for Thanksgiving, just an entire week to rest.

But there is one thing I am more excited about than Thanksgiving...FALL! I mean c'mon you've got to admit it is basically the best season ever, warm drinks at Starbucks, cute boots, jeans and oversized cardis, fall fashion is the best! Which is why my friends and I took a trip to Kansas City this weekend to update our wardrobe, I made it out with a few things (and still managed to keep my wallet full).

This set just features of few of the things I want to grab before the month is over, here's to hoping I can find them on a budget (and to hoping I can update this more often again)!

Until next time,

The September Issue

So it's about that time again, the time when the fashion magazine of all fashion magazines arrives on newsstands, weighs down your backpacks and practically breaks your mailboxes, but it's all worth it, right?

I suppose we'll have to read the issue to find out, but I am a little apprehensive about this issue, why? Well a few reasons, but the main one being the cover: Lady Gaga.

Don't get me wrong, I love the woman, she is fabulous and I love what she stands for, such a strong and inspring person, but fashion icon? I think not. She has definitely had her fair share of appearances on E!'s Fashion Police, not to mention she has appeared in MTV and VH1's worst dressed specials. So my question is, why is she on the cover?

I suppose I will have to read the issue to find out. However, I do know that one of the pictures of her inside is her sporting no clothes, but a very frilly Marc Jacobs hat...hmmm. Like I said I am apprehensive about the entire thing. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see.

Another big surprise about the issue, it is 916 pages, yes you read that right nine hundred and sixteen pages! I'm assuming it's chalk full of exciting ads, it makes me wonder when they're going to stop making it bigger and really just focus on putting the absolute best trends and photos in the mag. I mean they can't really break 1,000 pages can they? That's crazy!

To say the least I am going nuts waiting for it's arrival in my school bookstore! I personally don't subscribe to Vogue, but I always make it a point to get The September Issue.

I know most people are getting ready for school, but if you've got any down time, and you've got  a Netflix subscription look up "The September Issue" you can watch it instantly and it really is a great look inside one of the worlds best and biggest fashion magazine and of course the coldest fashion queen, Anna Wintour. I enjoyed and still watch it from time to time, it is just so darn good!

Expect a full report on the issue when it does finally hit newsstands, until then:

What I Wore: Working at ON

Hey guys, so I didn't wear this today, I've just been super busy, but here is what I wore over the weekend to work.

I really love denim, it's becoming popular it seems like so when I went to KC for the day on the 4th of July and saw this denim vest hanging alone in Forever 21 I HAD to have it! It was definitely a good decision, it goes with anything and everything (though I haven't tried pairing it with denim bottoms yet)!

So what are you guys summer favorites?

Denim Vest: Forever 21 Plus $21.50
Pocketed Scoop-Neck Shirt: GAP Clearance $6.75
Blue "Frat Daddy" Khakis: GAP $36.00

What I Wore: Summer School

Well it's Wednesday and for me that means it' my rest day, it's the day I don't work out I (usually) don't work and I always make sure my homework is done so I can just chill. Rest day Wednesdays is something I started this summer and it's been so good I think I'll stick to it during the school year too. It's just nice to be able to wear something cute to class and makeup and not have to take it all off to work out 20 minutes later.

So today I took advantage of it and dressed a little nicer than I usually do for class (let's be honest, I dress for the gym).

I decided showing off my school spirit wouldn't be a bad idea (truth be told I just wanted to wear my new Mizzou V-neck). Let's be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of my schools colors (yellow? YUCK!) so I do my best to buy the cute girly stuff that still shows my support for my school. With that said, here is what I wore to class.

DIY Shorts: Old Navy $25
Mizzou V-neck: Tiger Spirit (Downtown Columbia, MO) $15
Jacket: American Eagle $20
Cream TOMS: Toms.com $44
Lacoste Frames (Glasses): $65

DIY: Cut-Off Shorts

I've been talking about making cut off shorts from my old jeans that are too big in the pant for the longest time and today I finally did! I used the steps from refinery29 and I am really happy with the results. Sometimes we are so quick to give away or even worse, throw away our clothes, but if you take the time to look up DIY clothing crafts, you'll save yourself a lot money. Besides, who wouldn't want to spend a nice afternoon revamping their wardrobe a bit? I sure loved it! Check out my steps below!

Step 1: Pick out a pair of shorts that fit you well and put them on top the jeans you want to cut. Fasten them together at the crotch with straight pins (or anything that will keep them from moving honestly).

Step 2: Put the ruler on top of the original pair of jeans (angled diagonally) and make a dotted line along the jeans with Tailor's Chalk or any other writing utensil that you can see and is washable (I used a pen).

Step 3: Take the ruler and measure down one half inch from the original dotted lines you made. This ill be the actual line you cut from, if you want your shorts shorter when you're finished, simply cut them again, but remember they will get shorter once washed and frayed.

Step 4: Using the mark you made as a guideline cut your first pant leg.

Step 5: This step is different from the website, but I feel it works better. Fold the cut leg over and use it as a guide to cut the other pant leg (that way even if you messed up your first cut a bit, both legs will be even).

Step 6: Ta-da! Throw these babies in the washer and dryer for the frayed ends to appear right away, or cuff them and wear them and wash them when you're done (that's what I did).

What I Wore: Meeting my new "little"

Today I finally got to meet my little sister from the BBBS program, I was excited and nervous all at the same time.

I'll admit it didn't completely go as expected, but it was nice and hopefully we can plan something out for this week, we'll see.

At least I looked cute!

White Shorts: Old Navy
Teal Vneck: GAP $10
Denim Shirt: Old Navy (Clearance) $20
Black Belt: Old Navy $10

I'm hoping the next visit with my little goes a little bit better, we'll see. Until next time,

Colored Shorts & Button Downs: Old Navy Edition

Colored Shorts & Button Downs: Old Nacy Edition

So as you guys know (or maybe not) I work at Old Navy and I absolutely love it! I've only worked a few shifts and it's been a blast! So, the other day when I was working I took the time to look at what seemed to be major trends right now and almost every mannequin had on colored shorts with either a v-neck (always classic cool) or a button down.

I love it, it's simple. comfy and surprisingly cheap! So I just picked out my favorite shirts and shirts I've seen around on mannequins.

Like what you see? Head out to your nearest Old Navy and get to spending! Oh and did I mention next Saturday is $1 Flip Flop day so go out and snag them up! And if you're in the Columbia area, you'll definitely be seeing me (:

Dream Job...well for now

So I had posted about a week ago on getting a job with White House | Black Market and in short, I didn't even work an entire shift before quitting.

It's not that it was terrible, I just got a better opportunity.

While I was on my way to my first day at WHBM I got a call from someone at Old Navy and my heart literally stopped. I had forgotten I even put in an application there (I apply so much they should have multiple applications of mine on file). Anyway, somehow mine got pulled and I went in the next day for an interview and was hired right after!

I have wanted to work at ON since freshman year of high school when i realized they carried my size and it was actually cute and affordable. It has been my favorite store ever since (if you pay attention to my "What I Wore" posts you already could've guessed that).

So now I'm working there, my first real shift is tomorrow (I have NO idea what to wear) and I couldn't be more excited. Its a fun environment to work in, I'll get more hours than WHBM and I'm making 25 cents more (better than nothing right?). Oh, and not to mention the AMAZING DISCOUNTS I GET. Yeah, even more motivation to loose all this weight because I will be going on a pretty amazinf shopping spree when I do and I cannot wait!

Anyway, expect more What I Wore posts now that I'll have to mix and match outfits more, or at least more Polyvore sets. I'm also thinking about doing a "This Just In" where I feature an article of clothing or accesorry or something where I talk about a new product we just got in at ON or about something I just bought, we'll see.

I really want to start making this more and more of a quality blog that people cannot wait to read every week. Even if it's just 5 people taking my fashion advice, I just want to get my name out there.

Time to step up my game and be heard! Until next time,

What I Wore: Big Brother, Big Sister Interview

So I'm back with another installment (I guess that's what you could call it?) of What I Wore! I moved into a new dorm on campus and it has a perfect spot for me to take picture of my oufit, and I believe I'll be in a similar room for the school year so now I can use my real camera more often (but I still threw in some cheesy Photo Booth pics).

Today I had an interview with an organization called Big Brothers, Big Sister of Central Missouri. For those of you who aren't familiar it is a non-profit organization where a "big" (someone 16 or older) is paired with a "little" (whose ages range from 8-15) and they spend one hour a week together doing whatever they like. These kids generally come from single parent households or foster homes.

It's an organization that I have been very interested in since high school and with a lot more down time over the summer, I decided to give it a try. I love what the organization stands for and I cannot wait to meet my little. So here's what I wore:

Whoops, no shoes!

Pant Capris: Old Navy $25
Blue Buttoned Scoop-Neck: Old Navy $17
Salmon (it looks pink, it's not) Cardigan: Target $20
Black Belt: Old Navy $10
Not Pictured
Black Galdiators: Target $20

My uniform! (free to volunteers)

I'm sure furture what I wore segments will feature either my uniform or cute outfits that I wore out with my little, maybe I'll even feature her, we'll see (not sure if that's allowed). Like I stated earlier it is a really awesome organization, if you are looking for something to be apart of, I highly suggest you check them out. You can go here to see if their is one in your area.

The thing about fashion

It's different for everyone.

To me personally, it isn't a size, or a color or a designer or even a style. It's how I choose to express myself with the clothes, shoes and accessories in my closet.

I'm a Fashion Merchandising major and so many people automatically assume that means 2 things:

1) I'm not very smart
2) I always dress cute, mainly in designer clothes.

Both of which are generally wrong.

In fact, I'm pretty bright (I'm also a Journalism major at one of the best schools in the nation). And on a budget that's only a little higher than minimum wage I can't afford many name brand clothes (unless I hit up TJ Maxx). But let's be honest, 80% of my closet is Old Navy.

So many people have such a skewed perception of fashion now a days, it's not one thing or another, it's all of them, together.

Switching things up and putting them together is what I love most about fashion.

Be free to create what you want, don't let the medias (mostly) terrible stereotypes stop you from doing (and more importantly wearing!) your thang!

(:

First day of work

First day of work
So you all may or may not know, but I recently got a job with White House | Black Market and I start sometime next week (hopefully!). I have an outfit similar to this planned for my first day of work. and let me just say I am TERRIFIED. I hope to create a "What I Wore" post after my first day.

Wish me luck!

The Push I Needed

I got inspired yesterday.

I was having a late night dinner (okay it was like midnight) with two of my friends Aaron and Isabella and somehow we got on the subject of education and making our dreams come true. Aaron is one of the most driven people I have ever met. He might not have the greatest grades, but he taught himself every thing he knows about graphic design. He took the initiative and spent hours on YouTube and in magazines and websites perfecting his craft because it's what he loves and wants to do.

When he told me that I immediately said "I wash I was driven and independent enough to do that" and they both shared with me that passion and independence isn't something you're born with, if you want something you have to chase after it. They also told me something that I know not to many people would agree with: You don't have to wait for a college course to teach you how to do something, engulf yourself in it, experience is what counts.

When you think about it, it's kind of true. Like for example, I'd love to start a lookbook and do some sketches, just for fun, so the thing is, why don't I? What is stopping me? No one has to see my sketches, no one even has to know I am doing them (although of course I want to share).

My friends then continued to tell me that it didn't have to end there, I could take a sewing class at Jo-Ann fabrics and even work on looks at my job and eventually open an Etsy store online!

It all sounds like SO much right now, but it is exciting and I don't think I'll be as busy as I think this summer (we'll see).

It just feels good to take initiative of my life and start growing up a bit. After being home for three weeks and then dealing with my bull shit of a day yesterday I realized I have got A LOT of growing up to do. I guess I should make time for that this summer too haha.

But I feel like things are starting to look up, time to be a big girl.

I plan on buying a sketchbook (to start my lookbook) sometime next week. I'm supposed to be going to Kansas City tomorrow to see my best friend and all I really want to do is deal with everything, get my work schedule, move into my dorm for the summer and get ready to go see him. After this crazy week/weekend seeing my best friend is exactly what I need.

Have a good day/weekend guys and keep smiling (:

Success!

So some of you may or may not remember my post about going natural, (if you're curious what I had to say, go here) recently I cut off all of my relaxed ends (well everything, but my bangs) and at first I was scared to no end, but once I realized there was no turning back and that it was just hair, I started to deal.

All my relaxed edges

Wet poodle fro right after my "BC"

So far it has actually been great! I love that when I workout my hair looks the same all over because it is one texture, I love that I can get my hair wet in the shower when I forget to crab my shower cap and it isn't a problem and I really love that I can officially put my hair in a ponytail!

Me and all my ponytail-ed goodness (:
(excuse my looking a hot mess)

I literally stood in awe for a good 5 minutes today when I put my hair up, I was so happy! Why you ask? For multiple reasons:
1. A ponytail/messy bun was my go to hairstyle in high school, it's nice to have that option back
2. My hair is healthy!
3. I actually stuck with it my natural hair journey for an entire year!
4. I don't have to braid it up every night now

I suppose I really wanted to post this in hoping it'd give someone who just BC-ed (big chopped) or some who is going through transitioning hope. Stick with it! It will be worth it, promise! I transitioned for  year and there were times I just wanted to straighten it, but I am so glad I stuck with it! I can't wait for it to grow more!

Layout...HELP!

I thought I liked my layout, but now not so much. I see everyone else's and they are so cute.

HOW ARE YOU GUYS DOING THAT!?!?!

And would someone care to help me? (:

Little Blue Belt

So maybe it is the weight loss, or maybe it is the nice weather, but I have randomly fallen in love with dresses and the belted look! Not only does it create a waist for me that was once lost in the baggy tees and sweatshirts I wore, but it is simple and comfortable. Below are three of my favorite outfits that I have used my little blue belt on and the best part is, the belt was only $10!

So glad to be out of that place, you can't see the belt in this pic (barely) but I assure you I have it on.

I'm baaaackkk!

Untitled #51

Hey all! Happy Memorial Day weekend, I will be traveling to Nashville this weekend supporting my sister and her travel basketball team and even though I wish I was sporting this outfit in NYC with my friend Aaron, I thought some quality family time before heading back to CoMo was probably the right choice.

I love these shoes, though I haven't tried walking in them (I feel like my feelings will change once that happens). And of course Michael Kors is always a good choice and even though it is pretty hot, I'm loving that black is becoming a big part of fashion again, black is the new black again!

Whatever you are doing this weekend, I hope you enjoy it, who doesn't love 3 day weekends?

Good news....and bad news!

Good news first-I GOT A JOB!

Bad news- I still suck at updating this :(

I'm sorry guys, I really am. I haven't even been on IFB to check my messages and follow new people and pub myself, that's on my long list of things to do.

However, I am going out of town tomorrow and won't have wifi (rough, I know) so posting regularly wills till have to wait.

I'm hoping to start a new segment type thing with this new job, either a what I wore to work type thing or a how I dressed the mannequins.

We'll see.

I got hired as a sales associate at White House | Black Market so I'll get to keep an eye on what women (at least in my area) are wearing, I am so excited! Can't wait to get started and FINALLY make my own money again!

I do have a lot of cute outfits to show you guys though and now that I'm home it is easier to take pictures. I'm gonna shoot for at least one photo shoot before June1 when I head back to Missouri for summer school, deal?

I've done it again

This week, no this month has been hell! So busy and now I get a few days to clear my mind (and celebrate my best friend and I's birthday) and then it's finals week. I just want summer, then I can do more "What I Wore" posts and more posts in general.

I apologize for being MIA all month, but I am going to do better promise.

I thought I'd take the time to tell you guys I have a Tumblr fashion blog that is updated more frequently simply because I am always on Tumblr. If you're interested the URL is http://www.wanna-be-fashionista.tumblr.com

For the most part it is just pictures of things I like, guys and girls fashion. Every once in a while I will thrown a personal opinion or story in there, but yeah, give it a look and tell me what you think.

Tonight I am going to the Good Music, Good Fashion fashion show and I am SO excited. This is my first (of many) fashions shows I will be attending. Angela Simmons will be there and artist as far as Chicago and as close as down the street will be there. I am so excited to see what kids my age are doing in the fashion industry and to network and see what it takes to get there.

Expect a recap in the next week!

Now if only I could find an outfit to wear...

Summer Date Night

Summer Date Night

Who says you have to wear a dress or a skirt to a nice date this summer, going out with your boyfriend? Meeting someone for a first date? Instead of worrying about your dress riding up or your skirt getting caught in your ass, try this: nice cropped shorts with a flowy top and blazer makes you look put together, but is still a little more comfortable (to me anyway) and adding some wedge heels gives you the chance to show off your sexy legs (and it elongates them!) top it off with simple make up and jewelry and you will be one hot mama ;)

Are you prepared for Summer?

Are you prepared for Summer?

I'm on this summer kick, can you tell?

Anyway, I don't know about you all, but I've got my own checklist of things I've got my eye out on and here's why:

1. The Fedora- I don't care if you've got a lot of hair or none at all the fedora is a great creation and perfect for those days you're going to the beach and don't want to do your hair or you wake up late and have lunch plans (or class) in 30 minutes.  Syle your hair in a low bun or pony tail, pop your fedora on and BAM,  you're ready to go and look super cute!

2. Ray Bans- Who doesn't want to get their hands on some sunglasses when the sun is shining all summer? I am personally saving up for Ray Bans, but if you're the type of person that alway loses or breaks sunglasses or likes to switch it up based on your outfit, check out Target or Forever 21 they've got tons of cute frames, colors and styles of glasses for as low as 5 bucks!

3. Flow Tank Tops- So I'm not the biggest fan of my back (but I'm working on it!). What better way to show off your girly guns with a flowy tank top! It catches the breeze on hot summer days and let's be honest it just makes you look hot!

4. Sun Dresses- My most recent obsession has been dresses, they are perfect for a sunny day or can brighten up any cloudy day, they aren't form fighting (most of them anyway) and they go great with a cute pair of gladiators! Definitely a must have for this summer, My favorites can be found at Forever 21 and Target!

5. Jean Shorts- Self explanatory, those days when you don't want to wear anything too nice, but you aren't feeling track shorts either.

6. Yoda Pants/Capris/Shorts- These aren't just for working out, but the they are also great for those late cool night bonfires, working out or just chillen inside.

Summer!

Summer!
I am back as promised! I haven't had much inspiration lately, and on top of that I have been super busy, but I will be getting on Polyvore and making sets as soon as possible! I've got a test tomorrow and then a free week (besides another job interview, *fingers crossed*).

Just like everyone else I am SOOOO ready for summer! The weather here in Columbia is already pretty warm which is such a teaser, but it's better than snow! I want shorts and flowy tops and sunglasses galore (I'm saving up for Ray Bans!).

Yes, I'll be in summer school every day for 8 weeks, but only until 11 am so I guess I can deal and hopefully I'll get this job so I'll have money in the bank, a brand new car and great friends! Sounds like the perfect summer right? I sure think so (:

What I Wore

Maybe it's the nice weather outside today, maybe it'd the new sunglasses and scarf I got over the weekend or maybe it's the fact that I lost 4 pounds this week, but I was really feeling myself, so I figured why not do a what I wore.

Now I know I was supposed to be doing one every Wednesday, but obviously that didn't happen. Still no nice camera and no subjects to capture. Today was definitely the first day I've "dressed up" in a while, so I opened up Photo Booth on my Mac when I got home and took pictures. With that said, enjoy!

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Spring!

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Spring!

It's sunny and warm here in Columbia and I can't help, but sit in class and think about spring! March is 2 days away and based on this weather I feel like spring is coming faster than we expect. So I figured I'd put together a Polyvore set of a few things I've got my eye out for in the next coming months. Now if only I could find a job! Anyone hiring?
